HALEAKALA INVESTMENT CO., LTD. dba THE AMERICAN COATING COMPANY
History of The American Coating Company:
The history of The American Coating Company is related in many ways to the history of waterproofing and concrete restoration in Hawaii. Al Gardner, (former President and RME and now Chairman) of The American Coating Company (ACC) has been involved in waterproofing and concrete restoration in Hawaii for over 30 years. He was originally involved in the waterproofing of many new structures throughout the state.
ACC is the dba name for Haleakala Investment Co., Ltd. which was incorporated on November 1, 1976. The American Coating Company became active in waterproofing and concrete restoration in 1982 as a direct result of Al Gardner leaving the new construction market to focus strictly on restoration and remedial work.
Previously, Al Gardner was the founder and RME of Al Gardner Waterproofing (AGW) which was a union operation, working in the new construction and restoration markets.
Based on Al's experience with AGW, he found that many of the previous jobs that he had worked on in the early 70's were now asking for follow up work such as concrete repairs, re coating parking decks, roofs, re caulking windows, and reinstating warranties on previous jobs to regain coverage, etc. Al also found that the jobs that he did not originally work on also needed repair or needed a waterproofing and/or concrete restoration contractor who could fix the problem.
Thus ACC was designed to handle the need for quality remedial work which utilized technical skill, to apply the appropriate waterproofing and concrete restoration technology at a fair cost |
